TA THOMAS
BIO
T.A. Thomas (@TAThomas) is a triple threat when it comes to his extraordinary talents. From the piano to his captivating, soulful vocals, you can’t help but feel the raw emotion that is unleashed from the depths of his soul when he hits the stage. Born and raised in the Mississippi delta, he came from humble beginnings. Practically born in church, he started singing at the age of 5, watching his mom preach sermons each week. As a teenager, he taught himself how to play the piano and before he knew it, he was singing and playing in front of the packed-out congregation every week. While he was setting souls on fire on Sunday, he began honing his chops as a performer at local talent shows and developed a passion for R&B during the week. “I’m a church boy, but I love R&B and I couldn’t take my shirt off on the gospel stage,” he laughs.
Although he is still in his twenties, he is the love child of the crooners of the 60s, 90s R&B, and the modern boundary-breaking vocal acrobatics of the 21st century. After leaving college to tour with Grammy award winning gospel group, James Fortune and Fiya, he was afforded an opportunity to form the highly acclaimed boy band, Next Town Down. With Next Town Down, he gained over 100 million streams and released musical projects, including The EP [2018] and Juliet [2019], which boasted collaborations with 6lack and Rich The Kid. As a solo artist, he has garnered attention from the likes of musical geniuses such as Brandy, Tank, and Chris Brown.
He's currently working on his solo debut project.
